Overview:
Conditional Release can be used for many purposes in a course.  Examples for using this feature include: releasing content to a specific section, determining if a specific topic has been visited, dropbox submissions have been completed, specific quiz score mastery has been met, etc.  The following article provides instructions on how to set conditional releases in a D2L course.

Note:  The example below demonstrates how to conditionally release content to a specific course section.  When creating conditional releases on a News item, you’ll notice Additional Release Conditions at the bottom of the page for creating News.  For Dropbox folders and Quizzes, Release Conditions are found under the Restrictions tab.

Step 1:  While viewing Content, click the Add dates and restrictions area below the content module name.

Step 2: Then click the Create button below Release Conditions.

Step 3: Click the box to Select Condition Type and select Section Enrollment.

Step 4:  You will be prompted to select for the Condition Details.

Step 5:  Be sure to click Update.

Once the restrictions are set for the item, an icon, along with the definition of the conditional release, will be displayed.
