Overview:

This knowledge article provides the steps for Radford University users to change/reset passwords, in the MyRUID Password and Account Management Portal.

Navigate to the MyRU portal - https://my.radford.edu.
Log into the portal with your username and password

After logging in, click on the Personal Info icon

Under Account Settings, you will find options to Manage Passwords and Security Questions.
Click the Change button for Password.

Enter your Username.  Click NEXT.

Enter your account password.  Click SIGN IN.

There are two main tabs, MY PROFILE and MY ACCOUNTS, that provide access to update self-service.
These instructions focus on the MY ACCOUNTS tab.

MY ACCOUNTS

Click on the MY ACCOUNTS tab to change/reset your password.

The Password Strength indicator shows as you type whether you are entering a Weak, Good or Strong password.  Always strive for STRONG PASSWORDS!

The Password Rules box shows all the requirements for an account password.  For example, you cannot use any part of your name, your Radford username, or common dictionary words as part of your password.  Per the rules, you must have 3 of the 4 conditional requirements included (1 uppercase letter, 1 lower case letter, 1 special character or 1 number).

Passphrases may be used and are encouraged, but must still contain 3 of the 4 conditional requirements.

Enter your new password in the spaces provided.
Click the RESET PASSWORD button to submit your entry.

If your password does not pass the rules, you will receive the Error box below.  Click the OK button to return to the password screen to re-enter another password.

The password screen will identify for you which rules failed on the previous attempt.

You will receive a success message when the password is reset.
Click the OK button to continue.

To log out, click on the button next to your name in the upper right-hand corner.
