Radford University Virtual Lab using AppStream 2.0 (PC and MAC)

Radford University offers a variety of software programs that can be accessed online from a personal computer.  The access is commonly referred to as remote access or virtual access.

You need to save to your personal One Drive account not the Temporary Files are that is the default.  Be sure to look through steps 5 and 6 to connect your personal One Drive account for storing files.  Files stored in the Temporary Files location are available to everyone who has access to the Radford University Virtual AppStream 2.0 website.

If you are taking classes on campus, it is recommended to access the software at one of the computer labs.    The performance of the software will be faster if accessed directly from a lab computer.

Google is the recommended browser.

1. Go to the AppStream website to open Radford University’s remote software website.

2. Click an app to get started

3. The virtual session should take less than 2 minutes to be available.  Wait for the connection, first time may take longer than subsequent sessions.

4. The upper left of the AppStream screen will always show the following

5. Setup OneDrive for saving files. Click the My Files icon, click Add Storage, then click OneDrive.

 6. Click @radford.edu, and click Accept to allow connection.

NOTE: Wait for OneDrive to show up above Temporary Files location.  Be sure to save files in your OneDrive folder.  Your Radford University OneDrive will be available at this time. Do not store files in Temporary Files folder, everyone has access to the same Temporary Files folder.

You’ll have access to your entire OneDrive account and may create folders for classes, projects, etc.

For additional software access such as the Microsoft Office Suite, visit the Software Availability page.
