Email Setup (Android) (Faculty, Staff, Students, and Alumni)


Overview: This article describes how to setup a Radford email account on an Android device for Faculty, Staff, Students and Alumni at Radford University.

NOTE: Make sure you are connected to a wireless network or have cellular service as a connection to your email account cannot be made without one.
NOTE: If you’re prompted at any time for a server address enter “outlook.office365.com”

1. Open the Google Play Store.

2. Search for "Microsoft Outlook" in the Google Play Store, download it and then open it once the app is installed.


3. Once the app is open for the first time, click on "Get Started".


4. Enter your full Radford email address (e.g. jdoe@radford.edu) and then click "Continue".


5. Type your username (e.g. jdoe) and then password into the secure login window. Click "Login".


6. Verify with DUO login using your preferred verification method.

7. Click "Activate" to activate device administrator. Radford University requires Outlook to be activated as a device administrator to ensure security requirements are met for your account.


8. Click "Activate this device admin app".


9. Click "Maybe Later" to continue without adding any other emails such as departmental or personal email accounts to the app. If you do have other email accounts you would like to add you can do so by clicking on "Add".


10. Click "Skip" to skip the tutorial or the arrow icon to go through the tutorial.
