iPad QuickStart Guide

Radford University iPads are managed by JAMF allowing apps to be deployed over the air.

Multiple self-explanatory setup screens will be presented when setting up the iPad.

Creation or use of a preexisting Apple ID:

· An Apple ID must be used for an iPad

· An Apple ID must be an email address

· A Radford University email address is encouraged when setting up an iPad

· Be cautious if using a personal email address on a university owned iPad as personal photos and apps may be available on the university device

Create a Passcode

A Passcode is different than a Password. A Passcode is used when waking up or turning on an iPad and is not the same thing as your University email Password. The Passcode should be unique to your iPad, must be at least 8-characters long and contain numbers and letters.

1. Tap Passcode Options

2. Tap Custom Alphanumeric Code

3. Type at least an 8-character alphanumeric code

4. Re-enter the passcode

Setup Outlook

1. Tap Settings

2. Tap Passwords & Accounts

3. Tap Add Account

4. Tap Microsoft Exchange

5. Type username@radford.edu and password

6. Change Description to Radford (optional)

7. Tap Sign In

8. Tap Work or school account

9. Type username and password

10. Tap Login

11. Authenticate through DUO

12. Tap Save

Download prior Apple ID apps associated with an Apple ID, if desired or warranted

1. Open App Store

2. Tap your account upper right of screen

3. Tap Purchased

4. Tap the cloud icon to download all previously connected apps you wish to have on new iPad

iPad Tips and Self Service apps

The Tips native app on an iPad has a wealth of short videos for navigating the newest iPadOS functions and increase productivity. Updated often with tips for built-in apps.

The

Self-Service app includes Radford University licensed apps including Cisco AnyConnect (VPN) and Crestron AirMedia for wireless screen sharing.
