Some professors require the use of LockDown Browser for taking tests and quizzes in their courses. These instructions will help you set up your system, so you will be ready to take these tests.
Before taking a test requiring LockDown Browser, you will need to install the program to your personal computer. NOTE: All Radford University lab computers have LockDown Browser already installed.
1. You may install the program in one of two ways:
2. At the screen, click Install Now.
3. The installation file will download.
(PC) Click Run to begin the installation process.
(Mac) Click downloads and the install package to step through the install process
4. Follow the steps on your computer screen to install the program to your computer. When it is finished, click Finish.
5. You can then close the webpage.
6. If you have installed LockDown Browser from the direct link, you should now go to the D2L test you are wanting to take. If you installed the program from the link in D2L, you are now ready to take the test. Click on the Start Quiz button. A window will open and will remain open until you click Done, indicating you have completed the quiz.
7. When you begin the quiz, LockDown Browser will maximize the screen on the monitor(s), and you will not be able to navigate to any other program on your computer. You cannot exit until the Submit Quiz button is clicked.
8. Click Done to close the Status window to close LockDown Browser and return your computer to its normal functioning.
