Overview:
Individuals can share files and folders with other Radford University users through Office 365/OneDrive. These instructions demonstrate how to open a file or folder that has been shared with you.
NOTE: Make sure not to open any file or folder from someone you do not know. Only open files or folders from people you know and are expecting to send you material. No matter what, even if you know the sender, always double check the sender's address. If you see ANYTHING suspicious, please do not open the file or folder and instead contact itsecurity@radford.edu in case it is malicious.
- When someone shares a file or folder with you, an email with a link to the shared file or folder will be sent to you. After verifying the sender, click on the link provided in the email you receive.

- If you are not already logged into your OneDrive, you will be re-directed to the Radford University SSO screen. Type in your Radford username and password, then click Login.

- The shared file or folder will open. Depending on the permissions set by the one who shared the file or folder, you will either have read-only access (only can view) or edit access (can view and edit).

- If you have been given edit rights, you can choose to edit the document in the online app or in your desktop application of Office. To edit the document, click the pencil icon that says Viewing or Editing and then select your course of action.

NOTE: If you open the document in your desktop application, you can make changes and then click the Save button. All your changes will be reflected in the online version. If you open the document in the online app, it saves your changes automatically so you do not have to click a save button.
- To locate the document any time from OneDrive, you first must log into your OneDrive (this can be done in OneCampus where you can search for the OneDrive tile and click on it).

- Click on the Shared link on the left-hand side in your OneDrive account and it will show all files and folders that have been shared to you. At the top, there are two tabs to see certain shared folders/files: Shared with you and Shared by you.
