D2L: Require LockDown Browser for a Quiz (Faculty/Staff)


Overview:
This document will show steps for an instructor to enable students to use the LockDown Browser for a quiz within D2L (Brightspace).

 

  1. Click Quizzes from the Navigation Bar, click the LockDown Browser menu choice.

NOTE:  The first time you access LockDown Browser you will see the message “Application Respondus v4.0 by Respondus Inc is trying to access your information. Would you like to proceed?” Check the “Do not ask me again for this application” if you do not want this message to show up. Click Continue to close message.

 

  1. A list of all quizzes will appear and as well as the status of whether LockDown Browser has been enabled for each quiz. Click the down-arrow menu button to the left of the quiz name to add LockDown Browser.

  1. Click Settings.

  1. Click the Require Respondus LockDown Browser for this exam button.

  1. If desired under Password Settings, you may set a password for students to input to access the exam.

  1. Click Advanced Settings for additional features to the quiz while in LockDown Browser.

  2. There are options under Proctoring to decide if your exam will be proctored and, if so, how it is to be monitored.

  1. Click Save and Close when you have completed adjustments to the quiz.

  1. As you look at your available quizzes, you can verify that LockDown Browser and/or Proctoring is set up the way you want.
